Sometimes, you may experience timeout or login issues when accessing cPanel. In most cases, this is caused by your Public IP being temporarily flagged by our firewall for security reasons.
This guide explains why it happens, what you can do immediately, and how the block is resolved automatically.
1. Why This Happens
-
The firewall flags IPs that show suspicious activity, such as multiple failed login attempts or unusual access patterns.
-
This block is temporary and usually only affects admin users trying to access cPanel.
-
End users and website visitors are not affected, so your live site remains operational.
2. How to Access cPanel While Your IP is Blocked
Option 1: Use a Different Network
-
Switch to another network (home Wi-Fi, office network, public Wi-Fi).
-
Login again to cPanel from the new IP.
Option 2: Use Mobile Data
-
Most cases, logging in via mobile data works because it provides a different IP address.
-
Once logged in, you can manage your website as usual.
Option 3: Restart Your Router
-
Turning your router off and on can assign a new public IP from your ISP.
-
After restarting, try logging in to cPanel again.
3. Automatic Block Removal
-
The firewall block is temporary.
-
Blocks are usually lifted within 24 hours automatically.
-
No manual action is needed from your side to unblock your IP permanently.
4. What to Do If the Issue Persists After 24 Hours
If you still cannot access cPanel after 24 hours:
-
Verify your network or router has been restarted.
-
Check you are not behind a VPN or firewall that might be blocking access.
-
Create a support ticket so our team can investigate and uplift the block manually if required.
5. Important Notes
-
This security measure protects your website and hosting account from potential unauthorized access.
-
If you frequently encounter this issue, consider:
-
Using a static IP for admin access
-
Enabling two-factor authentication on cPanel
-
